Letting go with Hylos

In the modern world, letting go is a task that seems beyond the powers of most people, even if they understand the need for it. It's about letting go of our hold on things and people. This applies not only to the material realm, but also to the emotional realm.

The situation that leads us to have to let go

The knight BAYARD was ‘Without fear and without reproach’.

  • What are we afraid of, if not the future?
  • What do we blame ourselves for, if not the past?
  • Those who are ‘without fear or reproach’ live in the moment, in the present.
  • Those who are subject to fears from the past will be afraid of the future and will find it very difficult to live in the present in a calm, relaxed and happy way.
  • So it's our fears, which cause us to tense up, that make us dread life.

As a result, we try to do everything we can to control the different aspects of our lives so that what we fear doesn't disrupt the apparent order we've built up. Of course, it never works out exactly the way we want it to! That's when it's time to think about letting go.

Letting go, but of what?

Fears and anxieties are always reflected in physical tensions that vary from one person to another. Letting go involves relaxing these tensions. But that's not enough. Physical tension is matched by mental tension. So it's a question of converting our thoughts: of moving from distrust to trust; to trust in Life.

No longer wanting to control everything and accepting what comes with total confidence, letting go of control over our lives: both the material and emotional aspects of our lives.

It's a vast programme that requires a complete rethink of ourselves, of the way we position ourselves in this life.

The conditions for letting go

For extreme Easterners, illness is always due to a disturbance in the energy system. And tension is a blockage of energy.

Relaxation, combined with a good recirculation of energy, is a prerequisite for truly letting go. The essential condition for achieving this is a clear vision of the process and an unwavering determination to succeed in this conversion.

By way of analogy, someone who wants to stop smoking, but who deep down is not entirely determined, will not succeed despite their apparent will to do so.
